Meet Mohammed S. Erakat
DMD, MD
An Accomplished Graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine
A board-certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Erakat holds doctoral degrees from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and New Jersey Medical School. In his clinical practice, he draws on his combined background in dentistry, medicine, and surgery to practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a particular emphasis on dental implants and the All-On-4™ Solution for New Teeth in a Day™.
Education & Training
Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Dr. Erakat completed his undergraduate training at the University of California, San Diego, where he obtained his BS in Microbiology in 2001. He then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his DMD and developed his interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Erakat went on to complete his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During this time, he also earned his Medical Doctorate from New Jersey Medical School and completed a one-year internship in general surgery.
While in residency, he participated in clinical research that has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.
Professional Affiliations & Hospital Appointments
Dr. Erakat is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and a member of both the American Dental Association and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Erakat holds privileges at Princeton Medical Center (also known as Penn Medicine). Dr. Erakat has also had the privilege of lecturing at the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and presenting his research on immediately loaded implants at the national meeting of the American Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Service Beyond the Practice
Beyond his professional work, Dr. Erakat is dedicated to giving back to the community. He has volunteered with non-profit organizations such as Healing the Children, treating both children and adults abroad who suffer from severe facial deformities.
